AFROPUNK Brooklyn Battle of the Bands
Ethan Piper and The Instigation is a NYC band comprised of Ethan PIper (vocals, guitar), Andrew Shaw (guitar), David Moore (drums), and Ben Leavitt (bass). They regularly play live at Pianos NYC, their de-facto home stage for the past 6 years. In 2016 they recorded a 6 song EP at Studio G in Brooklyn. Among these songs, “People Get Ready”, stands out as a powerful rock anthem dedicated to humanity. This year, the band entered the song into 2017 Afro Punk Battle of the Bands Contest and received over 35K plays worldwide in a few weeks on Soundcloud. Why that song? “In these times, America needs it’s voices raised up and singing. We just felt that song was a right fit for everything AfroPunk stands for”, Ethan said.
