Knitting Factory Presents
Aura Noir, Trenchgrinder, Couch Slut, Funeral Leech
$30 ADV / $35 DOS
Aura Noir formed in Oslo in 1995 as a result of Aggressor and Apollyon's frustration with the metal underground’s trends and fads. They saw a gap that needed to be filled with something real, something metal. They intended to create a band that combined influences of 80s luminaries such as Sodom, Celtic Frost, Venom, Voivod, Dark Angel etc. Thus, black thrash metal was born.
The development of the Trenchgrinder was a response to the stalemate that trench warfare had created on the eastern front. An initial vehicle, Atakke, was already in use and then dismantled in 2010. The prototype of a new design that would become the Trenchgrinder was first demonstrated on May 14, 2011. Although initially termed "land ships", production vehicles were named "tanks", to preserve secrecy. The term Trenchgrinder was chosen when it became evident that no line of defense was suitable against such overpowering weaponry and it remains in use as one of the most deadly machinations on the modern battlefield.
